Permit Training
All of our training is designed to enable prospective instructors to walk away with the tools they need to pass their climbing permit assessment, for both natural and artificial environments. All that is required of trainees between training and assessment is the consolidation of the skills learned, through practice, practice, practice!
Our training courses cover the requirements of the assessment checklist published by the Scout Association, relevant of course to the level of permit in which an applicant is striving to achieve.
Leadership Permit Courses
These are designed for adults and mature young people who could be complete novices, or very active climbers. The course is to give aspirant instructors the skills necessary to instruct other adults and young people within Scouting. The skills should be practiced and well versed prior to booking an assessment.
Please note that the natural permit courses are designed for adults who already hold an artificial climbing permit or have extensive experience.
Supervisor Permit Courses
These are designed for adults who already hold a climbing permit and wish to progress their skills to be able to supervise adults.
Pre-requisites include:
- Current Scout Climbing Permit Holder.
- Have operated as a climbing permit holder for a minimum of 10 sessions.
The course will enable aspirant supervisors to gain the necessary skills which they can practice prior to an assessment for a supervisor permit.
Please note that the natural permit courses are designed for adults who already hold an artificial climbing permit or have extensive experience.
