All of our training is designed to enable prospective instructors to walk away with the tools they need to pass their climbing permit assessment. All that is required of trainees between training and assessment is the consolidation of the skills learned, through practice, practice, practice!
Our training courses cover the requirements of the assessment checklist published by the Scout Association, relevant of course to the level of permit in which an applicant is striving to achieve.
These are designed for adults and mature young people who could be complete novices, or very active climbers. The course is to give aspirant instructors the skills necessary to instruct other adults and young people within Scouting. The skills should be practiced and well versed prior to booking an assessment.
These are designed for adults who already hold a climbing permit and wish to progress their skills to be able to supervise adults.
The course will enable aspirant supervisors to gain the necessary skills which they can practice prior to an assessment for a supervisor permit.
If you wish to attend one of training courses then please fill out the booking form.
Please note that young people should contact our administrator prior to booking on a course.
If you are a Scout campsite, group or district who wish to have training at your local facility or organise a group training weekend, then please contact the climbing team administrator who will be able to assist.
